THE VALPROATE INQUIRY – VACANCY FOR CHAIRPERSON !

03/04/2024

OACS Ireland welcomes the Expression of Interest (EOI) document, although this is welcomed, we were not informed that the document was going out live to the public. We subsequently found out that the document was live via Google alerts we were astonished that we were alerted like this. We clearly stated to the department of health officials that families need to be the first to be informed.

The Minister for Health has secured government approval to progress an Inquiry into the historical licensing and use of sodium valproate in women of child-bearing potential in the State, following lengthy campaigning by OACS Ireland and Epilepsy Ireland. The Department has informed OACS via the Public Appointment Service (PAS) that approximately 30,000 registered users were alerted when the ad was published.

Should you and/or anyone you may know have some interest in applying for this important role, please see the following links below which outlines full details on the process and requirements of the role advertised.

Please note: The Closing date for applications is 3:00PM, Wednesday 24 April 2024.
