PRIME TIME The Department, The Data & The Disclosure.

OACS Ireland have been overwhelmed by concerned members at the revelations in resent Prime Time Pogramme. As a Charity who represent a vulnerable group, trust and confidentiality should be at the center for the care and welfare of these individuals.

However, OACS Ireland are appalled at the latest revelations in the recent programme RTE Investigates https://bit.ly/3sBwrHg

Our families will never forget what has been exposed by Shane Corr.

THE TRUTH MATTERS / STAND FOR TRUTH

Many of our families are worried sick after recent revelations in relation to RTE Investigates. Families are now calling on Stephen Donnelly Minister for Health to ensure that no dossiers are held on any Sodium Valproate related cases historically or otherwise.

The stress this has brought on families is unrealistic. Let me be clear here: this is structural and systemic abuse. There is no external ‘the system’ that did this: systems are made of people acting together for a particular purpose and so we want to thank Shane Corr for exposing such a situation. Our families now know what we are dealing with, it has shocked our families to the core.

In a recent statemet – Department to conduct ‘urgent review’ of files on children with autism. Which was Updated / Friday, 26 Mar 2021 21:23. There will potentially be more hearings after that which could include inviting in advocacy groups, the Data Protection Commissioner and the Children’s Ombudsman. https://bit.ly/3swdHJ4

The Organisation Anticonvulsant Syndromes Ireland (OACS Ireland) want to be strongly considered as one of said advocacy groups to go before the Oireachtas Health Committee on this matter.

Karen Walsh, you will be at the forefront of this injustice, inequality and abuse of your childrens’ lives as of those of your fellow peers if truth comes to light. Sickening is my only word.

    Thank you Karen!
How dare the HSE consider children with autism unworthy of the services they badly need and entitled to, I bet more money was poured into the legal team setting up dossiers rather than provisions needed for these children
