Organisation Anticonvulsant Syndromes Ireland 2020 Manifesto #GE2020

With the calling of the General Election, this represents an important opportunity to highlight our ongoing campaign for families affected by Sodium Valproate (Epilim) with prospective members of the 33rd Dáil.

To that end, we have launched our General Election 2020 manifesto and you can view and download this at the end of this article.

We want assurances from the next Government – whoever it may be – that the key points in our manifesto are met in full.

As you will be may be aware, OACS and our colleagues in Epilepsy Ireland were scheduled to attend an Oireachtas Health Committee meeting on January 29th however, with the Dáil being dissolved, this was unfortunately cancelled.

In advance of our Health Committee meeting, Epilepsy Ireland with the assistance of OACS, launched a survey on the experiences of women and girls who have been/are on sodium valproate. With the cancellation of our committee hearing, this survey remains open and we would please encourage to complete same if you have not done so already.

The survey can be found: here.
