The Chair of the Sodium Valproate Inquiry has appointed Jo Campion – Senior Clinical Psychologist to support and assist families partaking in the Inquiry. The upcoming meeting will commence with a smooth registration process, during which attendees can enjoy a selection of complimentary tea, coffee, and snacks. Following this initial welcoming period, the Chair Ms. Bríd O’Flaherty – will deliver an introduction to the to those in attendance. Please note that the Chair will depart immediately after her introductory remarks.
OACS Ireland has always stressed the importance of trust as part of this Inquiry. Jo, brings reassurance, confidentiality and trust to her sessions. She is a committed professional, a Senior Clinical Psychologist, and her fresh and transformative methods are already making a real difference for our members.
Jo’s primary goal is to ensure every family member feels heard, supported and their ‘truth’ acknowledged. We are confident that Jo will be a significant and invaluable asset to each person’s journey during the Inquiry.
Following our first session on the 23rd of September 2025, the feedback from the members who attended was overwhelming, a testament to the immediate positive impact of her approach. Jo has a calming presence and has an incredible skill for making everyone feel comfortable right away. Jo creates a soothing atmosphere that helps to melt away anxiety and fear that may exist. We have found that the profound positive experience she creates is difficult to convey through words.
